The need is urgent. Support services for children and adults with developmental disabilities has a waiting list that is 8,000 long in Northeast Ohio alone -- and getting longer every day. Residential, respite, day programming and transportation services are all vitally needed and Our Lady of the Wayside is working to answering that need:
- Wayside’s Residential Program provides 24/7 support in over 70+ homes throughout Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain and Medina Counties.
- Respite programming focuses on short-term emergency residential placement for individuals who need a soft place to land during times of family limitations or crisis.
- The agency’s Pathways Program offers adult day services that extend the range of community integration for individuals with disabilities through an engaging variety of activities.
- Our Transportation Program’s fleet of over 100 vehicles provides people with developmental disabilities a connection to their community, work, friends and family that is safe, reliable and accessible.
Answering the need is possible because Our Lady of the Wayside can count on the fact that it has over 600 dedicated staff to provide caring support … it’s possible because the agency can lean into its dynamic Board of Directors for guidance and vision … Wayside can answer the need because of partnerships with like-minded corporations and individuals who understand the importance of a mission that ensures children and adults with developmental disabilities live lives that are both full and meaningful.
Most of all, answering the need is possible because of you. Your generous gift, your donated car, your support of the family friend who lives in one of our homes or is transported by one of our vans … any kindness you’ve shared helps answer the need. Thank you for your continued kindness and all you’ve done with and for those served by Our Lady of the Wayside.
