Who are the fabulous chef's that compete in Cleveland's Finest Hors d'Oeuvre Contest? Meet Chef Genevieve Larson from Tree House - Avon, Ohio, who took first place last year and is making another fabulous plate on February 25th. Genevieve, a self-taught cook, has been whipping up magic in the kitchen for 14 years and took a moment to share tasty some dishes and why she comes back each year. "I believe in what The Wayside does, giving someone an opportunity, that's the name of the game!" The Tree House is a unique restaurant and gallery that doesn't follow trends and makes food like your Grandma would serve you in her kitchen. They try to focus on fresh, local ingredients that are made into dishes that will blow you away. What will Chef Genevieve be making at this year's event? The ability to be mobile is critically important to our consumers, it allows them to participate in their community and realize their individual goals, leading to greater opportunities. Our Lady of the Wayside’s Residential Program services for children and adults with developmental disabilities has been at the core of the agency’s mission for nearly 50 years. The Wayside’s Residential Program offers a comprehensive, high quality array of supports and services tailored for the optimum health and well being of the individuals we serve. Supported living, consortium homes, intermediate care facilities (ICF) and drop-in services are all a part of The Wayside Family of Services. As we start a brand New Year we want to take a minute to reflect back on the wonderful holiday season we had here at Our Lady of the Wayside. Whether attending the Wayside Holiday Dance, Special Stars Christmas Celebration, spending time with family and friends, seeing Christmas lights or viewing area holiday decorations we certainly enjoyed the season!
We would also like to say a special thank you to several local churches who gave each resident in each of our homes a Christmas gift. With 70 homes it is a big undertaking! Thank you Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Holy Trinity and St. Angela Merici Parish for making the season merry and bright for our residents!
