Thanksgiving is over, the turkey has been eaten, shopping has been done and now it's time to take a minute and reflect on how we can give back during this season of giving. That's what #GivingTuesday is all about! Taking place on the first Tuesday each December, Giving Tuesday is a day to give back to others after the rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Please consider Our Lady of the Wayside in your holiday giving this season by visiting http://www.thewayside.org/ to make a donation or to learn more about our mission. Thank you!

It's almost Thanksgiving! During this time of giving thanks we'd like to say thank you to you! Thank you for supporting our mission of providing life-changing opportunities for children and adults with disabilities by attending our events, contributing financially, donating your ride and volunteering your time. It's been a great year, thanks to you, and we are looking forward to an even better year in 2016! We couldn't fulfill our mission without you, so give yourselves a big round of applause!
Last week at the Starlight Luncheon our partner, Medical Mutual, announced their pledge of an additional $300,000 to our Transportation Program on top of their 150,000 gift this year! Thank you Medical Mutual for your extraordinary generosity! We are grateful to have Medical Mutual as one of our partners. We are speechless at their generosity! The Wayside’s Transportation Program, which provides services for over 600 individuals with disabilities in over 70 neighborhood homes in Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties. November is the month of Thanksgiving and we'd like to take a minute to thank our many like-minded partners who understand the importance of a mission that ensures children and adults with disabilities live lives that are both full and meaningful. A few of the many organizations we would like to thank are: The Shamrock Companies, Smart Business, Northwest Bank, Medical Mutual, Cleveland Cavs, Cleveland Indians, Ray's Auto, Blue Technologies, Inc. - US, Newsradio WTAM 1100, Climaco Wilcox Peca Tarantino & Garofoli Co., L.P.A. and Roto Rooter. These are just a few of the many partnerships we are grateful for, thank you! Our son, Max, has cerebral palsy. We were unsure what to do when he graduated from high school. Along came Our Lady of the Wayside’s Pathways Day program. There are many activities at Pathways and field trips to interesting places. Max has also made a lot of friends through Pathways and it has enriched his life in many ways. We do not know what we would do if Wayside was not there for him. Thank you for supporting children and adults with disabilities by giving generously to The Wayside's Annual Appeal. ~Lindsey & Christine, Parents. The Wayside provides residential, respite, transportation and day programming services to 600 individuals in Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain and Medina Counties. To give please visit www.thewayside.org. Two champions of Our Lady of the Wayside, Paul Hanna, President and Founder of Blue Technologies and Bill Wills, Morning Show Host on NewsRadio 1100 WTAM, were honored as recipients of the 11th Annual Our Lady of the Wayside Starlight Guardian Humanitarian Award, presented by The Shamrock Companies at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven, Tuesday, November 10, 2015. “We are so fortunate to have these two very special people as members of The Wayside Family. Paul Hanna is an accomplished business leader who has been committed to helping children all his life, while Bill Wills has wholeheartedly supported The Wayside both on and off the air. These two have made themselves into men worthy of the kind of respect only a few earn,” said Terry Davis, President and CEO of Our Lady of the Wayside. The Starlight benefit raised $448,650 at today’s luncheon, bringing the total to over two and a half million dollars since its inaugural event in 2005. This year’s proceeds will go toward funding The Wayside’s Transportation Program, which provides services for over 600 individuals with disabilities in over 70 neighborhood homes in Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties. “We thank our sponsors and the generous benefactors who support us. Our success in providing quality services and programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities depends on their support,” said Davis. Robert Troop and John R. Climaco teamed up with auctioneer Bob Hale to help raise the money. The event concluded with an announcement by Dan Polk of Medical Mutual, pledging that the health insurance company will donate $150,000 this year and again in 2016 and 2017.
